About Leah Benjamin, LMT

Welcome!

I am Leah Benjamin, Licensed Massage Therapist.
I began my study of Bodywork in 2013, receiving my Massage Therapy Certification at Cumberland Institute, Tennessee's oldest school of Holistic Massage Therapy.  I continually educate myself and explore the expansive styles of bodywork techniques and modalities, yet my greatest teacher is the body I am with in the moment and its subtleties and nuance with whispers that are clearly heard in my deep listening. In my 10+ years of experience, this deep space I've spent so much time in has led me to develop techniques outside of the standard modalities that lead to levels of change my clients and I are often astonished by, yet also not surprised by after being in the deep experience together. Great change can take place is a single session, and almost all of my clients receive weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly sessions as our attunement expands and our bodies reach a comfort and safety level of a profound relationship. This leads clients to experience new ways of being that extends beyond the table.  In traditional modalities, I am experienced in many styles of bodywork including Deep Tissue, Neuromuscular, Craniosacral Therapy, Myofascial Release, Acupressure, cupping, Swedish, hot stone, and The Synergy Way trauma-informed bodywork.

I believe that bodies in alliance activate change and a new way of being. We often want to "get back to" a self we've know before, and I believe this can happen yet there is also more to experience with expansive relating- not alone. Support, attunement, release, regeneration, and new generating of life come with deep listening of the subtle languages our bodies speak. As people, we are here for each other, and can help facilitate what wants to come forth by giving the body the opportunities it needs with intuitive and integrative, fine-tuned bodywork.  My passion for bodywork originally came from the benefits I experienced through receiving it myself, yet now has grown with the awe of what come through in providing this service.  Receiving bodywork has been a catalyst through many phases of my life while regenerating and healing through injuries, work related physical discomfort, emotional tension, spiritual growth, and the need for relaxation, and pure supported space.

I am a nurturing mother and partner with a passion for the outdoors, locally grown sustainable food, fermentation, and wild-crafted arts of many forms. I have called Tennessee home for over 30 years. I grew up on the beaches of the North Fork of Long Island, fishing and clamming the salty waters in the summer, and staying cozy with my father's hand built wood stove in the winter.

I look forward to serving you and seeing what we can do together!
